The New Health Order, l looking forward to a better future. This past year has seen significant gains in medicine, health, and aging research. 2025 is going to be better.
Both of us are committed to building the New Health Order on the latest advances in healthy aging. By the way, you can access our latest monthly issues on the web: www.newhealthorder.org both narrative and podcasts are now available.
PROGRAMMING SELF-CARE
Basic human design, diet, and performance had been fairly stable for thousands of
generations. The last 70 years has seen a complete disruption in human diets, lifestyle, and culture.
We don't want to be "hunter-gatherers" again, but we do want to live a healthy life, well into our 80's and 90's.
Having access to all the latest aging and healthcare platforms is more readily accessible through your personal electronic devices.
We will work with you by offering only the top sources of aging information, from those who have the highest credentials.
Retaining one's vitality, mobility and mental acuity, well into the end of life, is the voyage of discovery in this venture. We invite everyone to make the most of the opportunity.
POWERING THRU ADVANCED AGING
Natural aging brings with it many manifestations of decline. At the top of the list are:
• Loss of muscle mass.
Known by the medical term sarcopenia, this loss of muscle tissue can be greatly reduced by personal interventions, such as weight training. Muscle is the only fat burning engine you will ever have, and, it is essential for maintaining one's mobility.
Protecting our muscle tissue is the highest priority we have.
• Loss of aerobic function.
Pulmonary weakness, or the inability to deliver adequate oxygen to the muscles, the brain, and other organs, will lower one's performance level. Maintaining a brisk daily walking routine early in the life is idea, but it's never too late to start. This will guarantee success at any age. this is our second highest priority.
• Insulin resistance.
Normal aging reduces our ability to handle high carbohydrate diets. As we age our energy cells become desensitized to the ability of insulin to do its job. This results in high levels of blood sugar and the loss of energy. We can turn this around by tightly controlling our intake of carbohydrates such as sugary drinks, alcohol, desserts, and all highly refined grain products.
A walking routine, and resistance training, will keep you fit and functioning into advanced age.
POWERING THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS
Many of us are testing the outer limits of over-indulging this holiday season. Your bulletin team is in the same fix. We will temporarily forget the calories and other bad stuff, and just enjoy the moment.
Also during the holidays, many of us have special dietary restrictions, that can't be ignored.
Solutions to this dilemma are not easy, and you don't want to be a problem at social events. Like us, you will probably try to go along with what ever is offered, but go skimpy on portions.
EMOTIONS AND HEALTH
Few illnesses arise from biological processes alone. Almoat all are an interplay between biology, the world we live in, our lifestyle, our connections and, particularly, our emotions.
The emotional link to human biology is a strong one. Emotions can determine who gets sick, who gets well, and who stays well.
Emotional factors actually play a part in regulating our genes. The expression of genes through emotions can directly affect our health and aging by disrupting the balance of hormones and deteriorating our immune system.
All dimensions of emotions must be considered, such as social, economic, spiritual, past failures, and aging. When emotional factors are under control, emotions and biology work seamlessly together for a healthier future.
